Letter from the Editor
Dear Reader,
Some days, the sunlight made me sick. I yearned for the safety of nightfall. Its peaceful embrace like a blanket of darkness softly wrapping around me. What musings does your heart lend on this, the longest night of the year?
Winter solstice can offer us a time for deep reflection and invite us to honor the dark.
Much of our planet exists in darkness, far from where the sun rays can pierce. Underwater, plants, fish and other aquatic life evolved to emit their own light. Within tiny seeds, lies dormant amazing energy waiting for the right time to crack open and emerge.
May this solstice invite our souls to connect with darkness and its teachings of patience, solitude and stillness. Let us revel in the life of the night, in the song of the nightingale, throat singing of amphibians and rhythmic noise of insects that erupt under the veil of darkness. Let us remember all the souls who have passed from this life into the next, into the unknown, beyond where our human eyes can see, the realms where our ancestors roam. Let us honor the journey of our ancestors who felt their way through the dark to survive and allow us to be here where we are today.
May you enjoy this inaugural issue of The Witchy Report.
Solstice blessings,
